Bodega Bay, California

Join students from Stanford and Berkeley (and possibly some others) for a weekend of discussion, worship, fellowship and fun at a rustic beach cabin in scenic Bodega Bay, California.

Pastors Beck and Jordan and Vicar Sias will present on the topic Apologetics: The Scriptural and Lutheran framework for apologetics, and an attorney's defense of the faith.  Our discussion will largely be based on Craig Parton's recent book The Defense Never Rests: A Lawyer's Quest for the Gospel.  (If you have a copy, bring it along!)

We'll plan to gather at Bodega Bay Friday after 4PM (or get there earlier to enjoy a beach stroll).  We'll have an informal dinner around 6 and spend the evening in a study session and a brief devotion.  Saturday we'll enjoy prayer, study, fellowship, meals, and some time on the beach.  Sunday those who are able to stay will worship at St. John's Lutheran Church in Petaluma.

The cabin has hot water, electricity, and bathrooms. Bring own Bibles, towels, sleeping bags, personal comforts. The weather in October may be beautiful, or cold fog and wind, possibly rain. Surf boards OK with shark repellant attached.

Please let Vicar Sias know as soon as possible if you might be able to attend this retreat.  The cost to students will be very low or possibly covered.
